DESCRIPTION:Join us for this wonderful day out to the region’s hidden gem – Wentworth Woodhouse. \n\n\n\nWentworth Woodhouse\, once home to the Fitzwilliam family\, is one of the great houses of England\, a mighty work of architecture\, a palace of beauty and art and for 300 years both a political power-house and the hub of social and economic life across a swathe of South Yorkshire. It was once as revered as Chatsworth\, Blenheim and Stowe.\n\n\n\nLocated in Rotherham\, Wentworth Woodhouse is a real treat\, steeped in history and boasting the largest façade in Europe! The venue is a short journey from junction 35 of the M1. For Sat Nav users the postcode is S62 7TQ. What3Words://botanists.linked.synthetic \nThis day out has been planned in order to support the Wentworth Woodhouse Preservation Trust. \n\nThe Wentworth Woodhouse Preservation Trust is committed to raising significant sums to support its ambitious community and educational programmes\, where campaigns and fundraising are key to enable this. The money raised is to be used towards a number of targeted programmes at Wentworth Woodhouse including educational projects\, community engagement activities\, well-being programmes and cultural experiences. This goal will be focused on groups who are often not presented with the same opportunities as others\, including people with disabilities\, low income households\, the socially and economically disadvantaged and ethnic groups. \n\n\nOur day will begin with a walk / nordic walk of approximately 1.5 hours\, followed by a bespoke tour of Wentworth Woodhouse and ending with afternoon tea in our own private panelled room. What a treat!\nThere is an option to join us for the walk only\, or the whole day.\nNumbers are limited for the whole day event that incudes the afternoon tea\, so make sure you book your space. Also make sure you book the correct ticket – walk only or walk\, tour and tea as a package.\nPlease meet us all at the front of the house\, in good time for a 10am start.\nParking is free of charge.\nIf booking more than once space please indicate the names in the notes section of the booking form so that we have individual names.\n\n  \nLATE CANCELLATION POLICY: Sherwood Nordic Walking has a late cancellation policy whereby we require 24 hours’ notice for cancelling a walk.
