DESCRIPTION:A magical and beautiful walk in all seasons\, our Friday Adventure begins in Laughton-en-le-Morthen and takes us to the ruins of Roche Abbey\, a 12th century monastery. \nThis Adventure requires a bit more stamina than our usual Adventures\, but the reward is a beautiful route taking in rolling hills\, ancient woodland and the magical ruins of Roche Abbey. \nLeger Lakes cafe is open on Fridays so we can stop here before heading back to our cars. I am taking out the overgrown early section of this walk so it will be a bit shorter than before. There is a steep downhill section on the way to the Abbey and therefore the same steep part going uphill on the way back. \nThere is a delightful cafe nearby called Leger Lakes and it is on our way back to the carpark\, but at the moment I don’t think it is a good idea for us to gather there after the walk. You can always pop in for a take out\, if they are available. \nDistance: 4-5 miles\nAscent: 512 ft \n  \nCOVID-19 aware \nPlease let me know if you or anyone in your household develops symptoms that could be COVID-19 within 14 days of coming on the walk so that I may cancel your place and issue your refund.  \nAlso please let me know if you test positive at any time after the walk so that I may provide participant details for Track and Trace purposes. \nLATE CANCELLATION POLICY: Sherwood Nordic Walking has a late cancellation policy whereby a cancellation fee will be retained for any walks cancelled within 12 hours of the start of the walk (approximately 60p).
