Think of Parkrun\, 9am\, 3 miles (ish) with your poles! \nThis brand new Saturday adventure is at the beautiful Thoresby Park! \nThoresby Park is a beautiful estate with a magnificent Hall\, a river\, deer park\, wonderful woodland and a variety of wildlife to spot.  The terrain is mostly firm and even\, however through the woods the ground is a bit more bumpy. \nThis week our Walk Leader Elaine will be your guide. \n  \nDistance: 3-4 miles \n  \nLATE CANCELLATION POLICY: Sherwood Nordic Walking has a late cancellation policy whereby we require 24 hours’ notice for cancelling a walk. DESCRIPTION:Would you like to learn how to nordic walk? This 3-part course will teach you all you need to know to enjoy the International Nordic Walking (INWA) technique. \nSession 1 introduces you to the nordic walking poles and their features before moving on to learn the few basic steps of the INWA 10-step technique. We will cover posture\, pole position\, arm swing and forward propulsion. \nSession 2 will take place on Tuesday 17th January 1pm and Session 3 on Tuesday 24th January 1pm. You do not need to book these sessions separately. The payment for Session 1 is for all three sessions. \nPoles are available to use free of charge. \nYou will need to complete a PAR-Q health questionnaire prior to taking part. We will cover posture\, pole position\, arm swing and forward propulsion. \nShort break \nPart 2 We will move onto the hill technique and foot dynamics before progressing onto cover up to step 6 of 10. \nIf you are struggling to grasp the technique after this fast-track session\, ongoing training is available at the start of each Saturday session. \n  \nFollowing on from the course you are welcome to book onto the monthly Saturday group walk\, or join us at the weekly parkrun at Clumber Park where we nordic walk the route. We also have week day nordic walks every day at 10am. \nPoles are available to use free of charge. \nYou will need to complete a PAR-Q health questionnaire prior to taking part. Using specific drills to emphasise the correct movements and posture\, we will ensure we are getting a workout from our walk.
