DESCRIPTION:A glorious walk along the Chesterfield canal from Clayworth! \nWe will start our adventure at The Worksop and Retford Boat Club. From here we will walk along the canal path to Hayton. SUMMARY:Friday Adventure at Laughton-en-le-morthen and Roche Abbey
DESCRIPTION:Beginning at Laughton-en-le-Morthen we will follow rolling hills\, peaceful woodland and finally arrive at the mysterious ruins of Roche Abbey. I am taking out the overgrown early section of this walk so it will be a bit shorter than before. There is a steep downhill section on the way to the Abbey and therefore the same steep part going uphill on the way back. \nThere is a delightful cafe nearby called Leger Lakes and it is on our way back to the carpark\, but at the moment I don’t think it is a good idea for us to gather there after the walk. With over 3\,800 acres of woods\, open heath and rolling farmland there are many walks to explore.\nClumber contains the longest double avenue of lime trees in Europe. The avenue was created by the 5th Duke of Newcastle in the 19th century and extends for more than two miles (4km). It is along here that we will meet for this Thursday Wellbeing Adventure Walk. \nEnter Clumber Park at the entrance on the A614. Drive down Lime Tree Avenue and go over the first crossroads. Keep going until you see a red High Fire Risk sign on your RIGHT. (This is before the next crossroads.) SUMMARY:Friday Adventure at Anston Stones Woods
DESCRIPTION:Please note\, we start this walk at Anston Parish Hall in the village of Anston (not the layby along the A60 as before). \nAnston Stones wood supports a variety of habitats\, including woodland\, the majority of which is also designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI)\, calcareous grassland\, scrub and wetland. The woodland is the second best example of limestone woodland in South Yorkshire. \nThe limestone grassland within the woods are also of botanical importance. There is also a Geological Trail with good examples of limestone gorges\, supporting a variety of rare plants and animals. \nDead Man’s cave is reached via the walkway to the gorge\, this cave excavated in the 1960’s revealed ancient flint tools from the ice age and animal bones from animals such reindeer and hyena. \n  \nLet me know if you’d like to go to The Green Bean Coffee Shop and Bistro just up the road and I can try and reserve a table. \nDistance: 3 miles \nAscent \nLowest 233ft Highest 348ft \nTotal ascent 370ft \n  \nNOTE \nThere are some steep steps.

DESCRIPTION:Come and join in on our Nordic Wellbeing walk around Clumber Park! \nWith over 3\,800 acres of woods\, open heath and rolling farmland there are many walks to explore. This week we are starting our adventure from the entrance known as the Normanton Gate which is opposite the Clumber Park Hotel. \nThe mobile drinks/snack van\, Lakeside Brew\, is located towards the end of our walk so bring your bank card if you would like to stop.
