DESCRIPTION:This month’s Friday special is over at our original venue\, Thoresby Park. \nWe will start with a gentle nordic walk across the estate\, covering 3.5 – 4 miles. \nA beer tasting session has been arranged for us on our return at Tuck’s Brewery – the perfect opportunity to buy some Christmas beer! Taster trays are around £6 and you can have a mini glass of three different ales to sample. \nAt 1pm Thoresby Café are opening up their dining area for us to sit together and have some lunch\, or a drink afterwards. We will follow the Chesterfield canal through Shireoaks and on to Turners Wood. \nAfter crossing the railway we will follow the fields that take us back to the canal before heading back to our starting point. DESCRIPTION:Let’s enjoy a ‘hygge’ [Hooga] nordic walk in the RSPB’s Sherwood Forest. This not-so-fast session will enable us to appreciate our beautiful surroundings\, breathe in the pure air and immerse ourselves in nature. We will still be nordic walking at a fair pace but your Instructor will endeavour to keep the pace manageable whilst still getting a work out. \n\n\nMeeting at the RSPB visitor centre we will explore the ancient and wonderful Sherwood Forest\, home to 1\,000 ancient oak trees\, including the Major Oak. \n\n\nTo join this session you will have already completed nordic walking training. If you haven’t please get in touch\, or have a look at the training session dates at Thoresby Park. \n\n\nParking at the RSPB visitor carpark is across the road and is free for RSPB members (just place your membership card on. your dashboard). DESCRIPTION:A great opportunity to do some Christmas shopping at the Welbeck farm shop\, the Harley gallery or the Dukeries garden centre! \nBeginning at The Dukeries (Notcutts) garden centre carpark. From the carpark we will begin by crossing over the main road. We will wind our way along a country lane and through open farmland until we reach the spectacular Creswell Crags.
