DESCRIPTION:Let’s enjoy a fabulous nordic walk in the RSPB’s Sherwood Forest. During this session we will appreciate our beautiful surroundings\, breathe in the pure air and immerse ourselves in nature. We will still be nordic walking at a fair pace but your Instructor will endeavour to keep the pace manageable whilst still getting a work out. \n\n\nMeeting at the RSPB visitor centre we will explore the ancient and wonderful Sherwood Forest\, home to 1\,000 ancient oak trees\, including the Major Oak. \n\n\nTo join this session you will have already completed nordic walking training. If you haven’t please get in touch\, or have a look at the training session dates at Thoresby Park. \nPace: Steady – Moderate \n\n\nParking at the RSPB visitor carpark is across the road and is free for RSPB members (just place your membership card on. your dashboard). Otherwise it is £5. \nThere are free carparks available in the village of Edwinstowe. \n  \n\n10% from each ticket sold will be donated to the RSPB\, a registered charity in England and Wales\, number 207076\, and in Scotland\, number SC037654 \n  \nLATE CANCELLATION POLICY: Sherwood Nordic Walking has a late cancellation policy whereby we require 24 hours’ notice for cancelling a walk booking. DESCRIPTION:As the official group of Clumber Park we know the 3\,800 acres very well. So come along for this nordic adventure walk and enjoy a varied nordic walk of 5-6 miles. No two weeks are the same! \nThe sessions at Clumber Park are moderate to fast paced\, and the group is well managed to suit. These sessions are not suitable for slower paced members. \nWe will meet at the main visitor’s carpark\, near the bicycle hire hub. SUMMARY:Fitness adventure at Anston Stones Woods
DESCRIPTION:Another challenging moderate-paced adventure with steep inclines and varied terrain. \nWe start this walk at Anston Parish Hall in the village of Anston. \nAnston Stones wood supports a variety of habitats\, including woodland\, the majority of which is also designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI)\, calcareous grassland\, scrub and wetland. The woodland is the second best example of limestone woodland in South Yorkshire. \nThe limestone grassland within the woods are also of botanical importance. There is also a Geological Trail with good examples of limestone gorges\, supporting a variety of rare plants and animals. \nDead Man’s cave is reached via the walkway to the gorge\, this cave excavated in the 1960’s revealed ancient flint tools from the ice age and animal bones from animals such reindeer and hyena. \nThis walk can be very muddy so be prepared with spare shoes and gaiters if you have them! \nIf anyone who would like lunch after the walk please let me know and a table can be reserved at The Green Bean Coffee Shop and Bistro just up the road. \nDistance: 4-5 miles \nPace: Moderate \nAscent \nLowest 233ft Highest 348ft \nTotal ascent 370ft \nNote \nThere are some steep steps. \n\nLATE CANCELLATION POLICY: Sherwood Nordic Walking has a late cancellation policy whereby we require 24 hours’ notice for cancelling a walk booking.
