Nordic Walking is a fantastic outdoor activity for fitness, wellness, fun and friendship!
THE BENEFITSView the CalendarOriginally a summer training regime for cross-country skiers in Finland, Nordic Walking is an enhancement of your natural walking posture. Using specially designed walking poles, similar to ski poles, the Nordic Walking technique makes something we do naturally, twice as effective by engaging 90% of your major muscles! The poles help to tone the core, to work the arms and also propel you forward to walk quicker!
In order to gain maximum benefit from Nordic Walking it is essential to learn the correct technique from a qualified Nordic Walking instructor.
Why not? It is an outdoor activity that anyone can try. There are so many health and wellness benefits. Once you discover them you won’t look back. Learning the technique can quickly turn your natural walk into a workout. The poles enable you to use 90% of your muscles (95% if you chat with a friend)!
You can find information here on Technique courses and regular Adventure walks which take place in a variety of locations in North Nottinghamshire and the Sherwood Forest.
